Pilot hole and lateral well designed to appraise the naturally fractured Carboniferous, Namurian play concept in the Manta Ray structure and to evaluate the expected ultimate recovery from a single Namurian sandsheet. Both the pilot hole and lateral well were successfully drilled using the Rowan Gorilla VII jack-up drilling rig in 2017 with multiple whole rock cores collected from the Namurian and the open holes logged with multiple wireline logging tool strings. After completing the well the onward plan included an acid/frac stimulation programme with a possible extended well test.
